What Toastmasters means to me

When people hear "Toastmasters," they often think of public speaking. While that's certainly part of it, Toastmasters has become so much more to me.

It's a place where people choose growth.

Every week, people from different backgrounds walk into a room and willingly put themselves in uncomfortable situations—not because they have to, but because they believe they can become a better version of themselves. Whether it's giving a first speech, leading a meeting, offering feedback, or simply speaking up when they normally wouldn't, every member is taking another step forward. That spirit of continuous growth is what inspires me.

I'm incredibly honored to serve as President of our club for the 2026–2027 year. My vision isn't to reinvent what already works. We've had strong leaders before me, and I want to build on that foundation by making it even easier for members to connect, communicate, and succeed together.

I'm excited to support our officers, celebrate our members' achievements, and look for opportunities to bring fresh ideas back to our club that help our time together be relevant for the challenges we face today. One of the greatest strengths of Toastmasters is that no club has to solve every challenge alone. We can learn from one another, share successes, and continue raising the bar together.

I also hope to help our members find opportunities to speak beyond our club meetings. The confidence we build in Toastmasters isn't meant to stay within four walls—it changes how we lead at work, communicate with our families, interview for jobs, volunteer in our communities, and pursue dreams we may have once thought were out of reach.

To me, Toastmasters is about more than speeches.

It's about confidence. It's about leadership. It's about service. It's about discovering what you're capable of when you simply keep showing up.

I'm grateful for the opportunity to serve this amazing club, and I'm excited for everything we'll accomplish together this year.

Here's to a year of growth, connection, and helping one another become better than we were yesterday.
